Club Bio

The Black Country Club was formed in 1995 from a very small beginning. The late Eddie Palmer was employed at the Stourbridge Indoor Leisure Centre teaching short mat bowls, because of the interest shown two separate Clubs emerged, Crystal Bowls Club being one of them.
Dudley MBC provided an outdoor area previously utilised for grass court tennis. This was converted to a 6-rink outdoor green in the pleasantly situated walled garden at Stevens Park, Wollescote.
Progressively the green has improved, culminating in the green being approved for County and National competitive games.
The club still plays more matches away than at home, but with the use of the House, a Grade Two Listed Building, and two new changing facilities opened in April 2016, the club hopes to encourage more teams to come and play in the beautiful surroundings of Stevens Park.
